what’s up

I'll keep you updated on the best in-town deals I come across, the latest innovative products I discover, and what sites to check out right now.

Going's On

In the spirit of Holiday Cheer, Rise & Organize is offering some seasonal services this year to make your holidays happier and less stressful.

Available for-hire assistance:

  • Holiday shopping
  • Gift wrapping (my favorite!)
  • Home decorating (this can be done in tandem with you if you just need some extra hands)
  • Address, stamp, and mail holiday greetings
  • Other services can be discussed; whatever makes your holiday run smoother!

If you are interested in getting some holiday help, let me know and we can talk about how I can best be of service. We can talk about fees, too.

Happy Holidays!!!

Deals Around Town

There is a great new thrift store in Avondale Estates called Second Life, which donates its proceeds to four local animal non-profit programs (including Lifeline Animal Project) once the monthly rent is paid. Currently, all (and I do mean all) the help is provided by volunteers so if you have free time, stop by to shop, donate, or help out!

Radio Shack has a cool new deal going on. If you bring them any old (in working condition) electronics and accept their appraisal, they will apply the value to your purchase right then and there (a colleague said that he traded in his 3GS iPhone for an iPhone 4 and was able to get the upgrade plus a case for less than $10). Optionally, you can get an appraisal online, print a prepaid shipping label, and drop it in the mail. You should get your gift card in the mail in a couple weeks!

Family Dollar has some good (and when I say "good" I mean "cheap but shouldn't fall apart right away") space-making furniture, like shelves and such right now (February/March 2011).

Did anyone else know that the big vat of kitty litter at Petco is to fill up your previously-purchased jug of Petco brand litter? It's eco-friendly ('cause you reuse the same jug), and also cheaper! Very cool.
